Prime Purchases

Hello Monday!  I hope y'all had a good weekend.  I'll have a post tomorrow about what we were up to.  Today we'll talk about Prime Purchases.  I went on a little spending spree at the end of my covid week, so this post includes some of those impulse buys.  Other than that, it is the usual mix of things from my online shopping cart.  I'll be linking up with Andrea at Living on Cloud Nine.

I ordered this dress from Walmart and love it.  It is similar to a black one I ordered in the spring.  I like that the brown color feels like fall while still being a style that will be cool to wear in the autumnal Texas heat!

I have been cleaning out my closet as I order refreshed styles.  This is a good basic style that will look fun with jeans or could be dressed up a little with black pants.  It is soft, cozy, and probably a little heavier than what I would typically need for Houston winter.  I kept it though because I love the denim accents.  Maybe I need to plan a wintery destination for a vacation?!

I admit this was a total impulse buy, but I'm so glad I did it!  This is not like other thermal brushes I've tried that blow hot air.  This is more like a flat iron or curling iron with brush bristles on it.  My hair styling routine lately has been to straighten my hair with a flat iron on Day 1, and then use my favorite curling iron on the other days until I wash again.  I don't like how dry and brittle the flat iron makes my hair, but I need it to tame the frizz.  This thermal brush smooths my hair, while still leaving some body.  I can even make it curl slightly at the ends.  Love it!

I posted about this last month and wanted to report back that I love it.  I just noticed that it is described as "volumizing" and that is a perfect description.  It gives your nails a plump, shiny salon appearance.
So far I am loving my new lash serum.  I was researching serums a little more and discovered there are two types: prostaglandin and peptide based.  The Ordinary serum is peptide-based, which has fewer possible side effects.

Covid Flu Home Test (Amazon / Target / Walmart)
I was so happy to have a covid/flu test in our medicine cabinet when I got sick a few weeks ago.  Normally, I probably wouldn't bother testing, but we had several events to attend in the following days so I didn't want to spread it.  I ordered several more to replenish our stock for future illnesses.

I love my new oil diffuser and stand in the kitchen.  This is the favorite diffuser I have owned, and I love how it blends in with the decor.

Here are the oils I ordered to use with the diffuser.
Right now I'm using bourbon pumpkin spice...so cozy!

These Walmart candles look just like the pretty jar that Anthropologie candles have.  I haven't burned these yet, but anticipate that they will smell delicious.  Some reviews said that the label is hard to remove from the lid, and I agree with that.  They should have put it on the bottom of the candle!

I ordered this because I had been craving poached eggs when I was sick.  (As a child, my mom and grandmother made "poached egg in a cup" especially if we were under the weather - poached egg chopped up with a chopped up piece of buttered toast.)  This little device does a good job, and will also make an omelet or breakfast sandwich egg.

Jack is starting his internship in a week!  I ordered these pants in British Khaki and Black for him.  Luckily, I got the sizing right and he is all set with some business casual pants.  (We had ordered these back in high school for choir, and they are nice quality.)

One of my favorite new-ish follows on Instagram is lightandlifestyled.  (She has 2 sons at Auburn which I love.)  She highly recommended these pants from Walmart, and said they were even nicer than some similar name brand pants for guys.  I ordered them for Jack in black and navy, and he likes them a lot.  So now he is set with two pair of dressier pants and two pair of casual pants.
